Congratulations to María López Guardone for setting New York state records!
At the NYC Regional Open on January 27th María snatched 70 kilos, clean and jerked 90 kg, and finished the event with a 160 kg total. María’s lifting earned her three state records by exceeding the record standard for the women’s 87 kg weight class in the masters women’s 35-39 year old age group. She’s the first member of our community to set and submit a record so far in 2024.
We’ve recently made an update to the presentation of New York state and State Championships records (with inspiration from our NE WSO friends). We encourage all NY WSO members to review the records along with their competition history to see if they have broken a record. If you’ve set a record, please submit an application.
