Congratulations to Tatiana Nikitina and María López Guardone for setting New York state records recently at the Murder of Crows Open on June 1st!
Tatiana broke the snatch record in the Masters Women’s 50-54 age group and 71 kg weight class by lifting 48 kilos. She also clean and jerked 61 kilos and tied the record total of 109. The snatch record was previously held by Leslie Giordano who snatched 46 kg at the 2019 Crow Hill Open. Leslie still holds the clean and jerk and total record in this age group and weight class.
Maria broke the snatch and total records in the Masters Women’s 35-39 age group and 81 kg weight class. She snatched 72 kilos and totaled 153. Those records were previously held by Riki Napiorkowski who snatched 69 kilos and totaled 147 at the 2022 NYS Championships. Maria tied the clean and jerk record, currently held by Laura McCall, by lifting 81 kilos.
Fun Fact: Maria has broken 5 state records across two different weight classes this year. Fantastic accomplishments and we still have seven months left in 2024!
