December 2024 State Records Update

Congratulations to Shamil Parbhoo and Grace Wang for setting New York State records!⁣

𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗵𝗼𝗼 set records in the Men’s 35-39 age group and 67 kg weight class at the 2024 NYC Grand Prix with an 85 kg snatch, 105 kg clean and jerk, and 190 kg total. 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭’𝘴 𝘴𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 (𝟽𝟾 𝘬𝘨 𝘴𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝟷𝟽𝟼 𝘬𝘨 𝘵𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘭) 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘰𝘳𝘺. 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝗴 broke records in the Youth Women’s age group and 81+ kg weight class with a 57 kg snatch, 72 kg clean and jerk, and 129 kg total at the 2024 Nick Curry Memorial. 𝘏𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘵𝘴 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 (𝟻𝟺 𝘬𝘨 𝘴𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩, 𝟼𝟾 𝘬𝘨 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘫𝘦𝘳𝘬, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝟷𝟸𝟸 𝘬𝘨 𝘵𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘭) 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯.⁣

What’s a record standard? A record standard is based on the International Weightlifting Federation’s world record standard for the next higher weight class. To set a record, a lifter must meet or exceed this standard.⁣
